These books are ones I've had in my studio, reading and referencing them often. About a year ago, I started getting interested in book indexes and started spending more time with those sections of these books. As a non-academic and informal researcher, I have a non-traditional relationship to the index and found their language to be beautiful windows into the disability culture shared via these books.
